Polish pharmaceutical company Celon Pharma S.A. has qualified its JARVIS project for funding under the European Funds for a Modern Economy 2021–2027 Programme, Priority I – Support for Entrepreneurs, SMART Path.

The project, entitled “JARVIS – Development and clinical evaluation of an innovative, dual JAK/ROCK inhibitor as a drug candidate for patients with myasthenia gravis”, has been recommended for funding of PLN 33,873,183.23, corresponding to the full amount requested by the company.

The project aims to develop and clinically evaluate a dual JAK/ROCK inhibitor as a potential treatment for myasthenia gravis (MG), a chronic autoimmune disease that causes muscle weakness. The investigational therapy is intended to provide an alternative to currently available treatments and address significant unmet medical needs among patients with MG.

The funding recommendation does not yet constitute a funding agreement or the transfer of funds. Funding remains conditional upon the conclusion of an appropriate agreement and fulfilment of the conditions specified therein. Celon Pharma will announce the signing of the agreement in a separate announcement.

The company’s Management Board considers the funding recommendation significant in view of the amount involved and the project’s importance to the further development of its research and development activities.
