High-tech CT and MRI scanners improve patient care in Kiskunhalas

PublishedOctober 19, 2026

Semmelweis Hospital in Kiskunhalas, a teaching hospital of the University of Szeged, has received state-of-the-art diagnostic imaging equipment. The national CT and MRI equipment replacement programme, funded by the government and coordinated by the Hungarian National Hospital Directorate-General (OKFŐ), aims to modernise diagnostic infrastructure, increase examination capacity and reduce waiting times.

The new imaging systems provide detailed images of the areas being examined, supporting accurate diagnosis. The upgrade modernises the hospital’s diagnostic capabilities and expands its imaging services through the introduction of MRI.

The new equipment meets modern clinical standards and is expected to contribute to improved quality and safety in patient care.

As part of the project, the rooms needed to house and operate the CT and MRI scanners were also designed and renovated.
