Verdane partners with digital healthcare provider Yazen

PublishedOctober 8, 2026

The digital healthcare provider Yazen has secured new funding in a partnership led by European growth investor Verdane, with participation from previous lead investor Evli Growth Partners (EGP).

The investment cements Yazen’s position as an established multinational provider of medical obesity care, and the capital will be used to scale its evidence-based care model across Europe.

Yazen specialises in the treatment of obesity as a chronic disease.

Headquartered in Sweden and currently operating across eight European countries, Yazen combines modern weight-loss medication with continuous digital care from a multidisciplinary team.

Today, over 50,000 patients are actively in treatment via the platform, with over 70,000 patients helped in total and more than 880 tonnes lost. Yazen’s team consists of 290 employees, whereof 210 clinical staff and 115 licensed doctors.

Obesity is a chronic, progressive disease and one of the greatest public health challenges of our time. At the same time, patients testify to widespread stigmatisation and a history of the disease being incorrectly treated as a lack of willpower rather than a biological condition.

Yazen has established an evidence-based care model, currently active in eight countries, that combines modern weight-loss medication with continuous care from a dedicated, multidisciplinary healthcare team consisting of doctors, dietitians, psychologists, and physiotherapists.

International data shows that treatment discontinuation is a major challenge, with 20–50% of patients stopping treatment within 12 months. In contrast, a 2025 Yazen study shows that Yazen’s holistic model with close clinical support yields unprecedented adherence, with 70 percent of patients remaining in treatment after 12 months.

Obesity is a chronic, progressive disease, not a character flaw. Verdane’s thorough evaluation of the European market confirms what our clinical data already shows: our medical model delivers results that set a new standard for the industry. This partnership provides us with a long-term and strong financial foundation. We can now build an established European healthcare platform that helps hundreds of thousands of patients achieve a lastingly healthier life, while simultaneously reducing the burden on public healthcare.

Verdane has extensive experience navigating regulated healthcare environments and supporting the scaling of responsible, digitally enabled healthcare platforms. With previous investments in companies such as Medadom, Evondos, Smartbox, and Eterno, it possesses a deep understanding of the healthcare sector. Following a comprehensive review of the European market, Verdane chose to invest in Yazen, largely due to the healthcare provider’s strong clinical outcomes, high medical quality and strong patient focus.

We are deeply impressed by the Yazen team and the strong momentum it is demonstrating. Our analysis made it clear that Yazen stands out as a reliable and scalable leader in medical weight management, where it combines medical excellence with accessibility. We are experienced in building responsible, digital healthcare companies with a strong focus on data privacy and medical governance, and we look forward to supporting Yazen as a long-term partner as it continues to make a measurable and life-changing difference to individual health.

“When we first backed Yazen two years ago, we saw a team capable of setting a new standard in medical obesity care. Since then, they have expanded across Europe while maintaining uncompromising clinical standards and a deep commitment to their patients. We are delighted to continue our support alongside Verdane as lead investor. This funding provides the scale to reach more European markets and broaden treatment across cardiometabolic care.

The true measure of Yazen’s success, however, is personal. Recently at an event, an individual approached our team solely to express how Yazen had changed his life — a story mirrored by tens of thousands of patients who have found lasting health through this platform,”  says Mikael Hed, Chairman of the Board, Yazen, and EGP Growth Partner.

The investment is concrete proof that Yazen’s patient-focused and integrated care model works and is now ready for broad scaling to improve public health across Europe.

Yazen is a digital healthcare provider specialized in the treatment of obesity – a chronic disease requiring long-term care. The company currently operates in eight countries: Sweden, Norway, Denmark, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, Germany, Switzerland, and Spain. Yazen’s unique treatment model combines modern medication, continuous digital care, a personal doctor, and support from a complete healthcare team consisting of a health coach, dietitian, psychologist, and physiotherapist. Research shows that this holistic model yields better and more sustainable results than medication alone.
