Lithuanian University of Health Sciences is organising a meeting with MEP Vytenis Povilas Andriukaitis, who will present the European Biotechnology Act — an initiative aimed at strengthening Europe’s biotechnology sector, fostering innovation, and accelerating the journey of new solutions from the laboratory to the market.

The meeting will focus on the key priorities of the Biotech Act, including creating more favourable conditions for biotechnology companies, promoting innovation and investment, integrating biomedical sciences and artificial intelligence, and strengthening biosecurity and biodefence.

During the event, Vytenis Povilas Andriukaitis will also donate a copy of his book to the LSMU Library, where a shelf bearing his name was established several years ago.

The event will take place on 23 October at 1:00 p.m. at the LSMU Library, Eivenių St. 6, Kaunas, 3rd floor, Room 302.
