PublishedOctober 5, 2026

The public agency SPIRIT Slovenia in cooperation with Slovenia Biotech Hills, the Embassy of the Republic of Slovenia in Switzerland and partner Connect2, is organising an outbound economic delegation to Basel, Switzerland, for the second consecutive year, from 25 to 28 April 2027.

As part of the delegation, Slovenian companies will participate in the prestigious international event Swiss Biotech Day 2027 and will also have the opportunity to visit a major pharmaceutical company or relevant institution.

Swiss Biotech Day is one of the leading international events in the fields of biotechnology and pharmaceuticals. The event promotes international cooperation, knowledge exchange, innovation and the development of new strategic partnerships. Each year, more than 3,500 life sciences professionals attend the event, including representatives of companies, research institutions, investors and other organisations from almost 60 countries.

The event is aimed at companies working in biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, medical technologies, research and development, equipment, and other services related to the biological and medical sciences.

Swiss Biotech Day is particularly relevant for innovative start-ups, fast-growing biotech companies, established pharmaceutical companies and investors seeking new business, development and partnership opportunities.

Slovenian companies participating in the delegation will have the opportunity to:

  • present their products and solutions at a shared 15 m² Slovenian exhibition space;
  • network and establish new business contacts;
  • exchange knowledge and experience with international experts;
  • participate in organised B2B meetings;
  • present their solutions and expertise to potential partners and customers;
  • learn more about the Swiss business and economic environment.

The delegation will also include a visit to a major pharmaceutical company or relevant institution, where participants will have the opportunity to learn about its business and cooperation models, as well as opportunities for Slovenian small and medium-sized enterprises to become involved in its business and development activities.

A joint presentation brochure featuring the participating companies will also be prepared for distribution at the stand and within the companies.

The number of places in the delegation is limited to 15 companies. Priority will be given to companies working in biotechnology, pharmaceuticals and med-tech that are involved in the development, production or commercialisation of innovative biotechnology or healthcare solutions.
