SEK 75 million equity round bolsters Enginzyme’s commercial strategy

PublishedOctober 4, 2026

Enginzyme AB has closed a new equity round, raising SEK 75 million. The new investment will support the Swedish company’s mission to deliver biomanufacturing solutions for the personal care, food and pharmaceutical industries.

The funding marks a key milestone in Enginzyme’s transition from an R&D-focused company to a commercially driven business.

“With the growth strategy established, closing this new investment round was a priority for Enginzyme,” said Aymeric de Gantes, CEO of Enginzyme. “The company is also very excited to welcome new shareholders with complementary expertise, who will contribute to the mission of delivering biomanufacturing solutions for the personal care, food and pharmaceutical industries. Enginzyme’s technology enables lower cost in use for higher-quality ingredients, obtained through more sustainable manufacturing processes.”

Lotus One Investment Pte. Ltd. and Valquest Partners Europe are joining Enginzyme as new shareholders and members of the Board of Directors. Sofinnova Partners, Stiftelsen Industrifonden, Navigare Ventures AB and Almi Invest GreenTech were key participants in the round, alongside several other new and existing shareholders.

On Thursday, September 17, Enginzyme hosted a gathering at its offices and laboratories at the Karolinska tech campus in Solna to mark the investment and bring together stakeholders.

Enginzyme is driving the shift toward biomanufacturing by harnessing enzymes to enable more cost-efficient and sustainable production for the personal care, food and pharmaceutical industries.

Its patented enzyme immobilisation technology enables biomanufacturing without living organisms and can deliver lower cost in use while significantly reducing the environmental footprint compared with traditional chemical manufacturing.

Based in Solna, near Stockholm, Enginzyme has a multidisciplinary team specialising in enzyme and process engineering, biocatalysis and organic chemistry. The company works with global manufacturers to develop products and processes ranging from techno-economic analysis to industrial-scale manufacturing.
