Minister of Health Ana Paula Martins recently received her Saudi counterpart, Fahad AlJalajel, for the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the two countries aimed at strengthening cooperation on public health issues and medical and scientific challenges of common interest.
The memorandum covers areas such as health technologies, newborn screening, nutrition and healthy lifestyles, health system financing, and artificial intelligence, among others.
As part of the visit, the Saudi delegation visited the National Institute of Health Dr. Ricardo Jorge (INSA), the Shared Services of the Ministry of Health (SPMS), and Santa Maria Hospital.
Saudi officials also met with Infarmed, the Central Administration of the Health System, the Executive Directorate of the National Health Service, and the Directorate-General of Health.
