Nearly PLN 50 million in funding from the Ministry of Health has enabled the construction of new premises for two clinics at the University Clinical Hospital in Białystok. Voivode Jacek Brzozowski attended the official opening of the facility.
Two units of the University Clinical Hospital have moved to the new E2 building: the Clinic of Infectious Diseases and Hepatology and the Clinic of Infectious Diseases and Neuroinfections.
Together, they have 51 beds, including 11 in specialised isolation rooms. The first clinic, located on the ground and first floors, has 31 beds, eight of which are in isolation rooms. The second clinic, with 20 beds, including three isolation rooms, is located on the second floor.
“When we talk about safety and everyday threats, human health and life are paramount. There is no substitute for the professionalism and knowledge of medical staff, but the comfortable spaces created thanks to nearly PLN 50 million in funding from the Ministry of Health will serve patients from across the region,” Voivode Jacek Brzozowski said during the opening ceremony.
The new pavilion was designed to meet high standards of epidemiological safety. Patient rooms are significantly larger than standard rooms, allowing additional life-saving equipment to be deployed quickly.
The building is equipped with mechanical supply and exhaust ventilation with a negative-pressure function, preventing potentially contaminated air from escaping the isolation rooms. Spacious isolation anterooms are another key feature of the facility.
