The MS Wissenschaft has been cruising across Europe this year, bringing the medicine of the future to audiences along the way. This week, the travelling interactive exhibition is making this year’s final stops in Austria.
The exhibition “Medicine of the Future” invites visitors of all ages to discover, try things out and participate. What will medical care look like in the future? What opportunities do new technologies and research offer for prevention, diagnosis and therapy?
Answers to these questions can be found at numerous interactive stations.
From 7 May to 30 September, the MS Wissenschaft is touring 35 cities in Germany and Austria and, for the first time, also visited one city in Poland.
MS Wissenschaft is more than a floating exhibition centre. The idea dates back to 2002, when the University of Bremen first sent a scientific exhibition through Germany on board a cargo ship called Geoship. The six-month tour attracted around 117,000 visitors and became the starting point for MS Wissenschaft.
Since 2003, the Science in Dialogue initiative has continued the concept, transforming a cargo ship into a floating science centre that travels through Germany and, in some years, Austria. Today, visitors can step inside the ship’s former cargo hold to explore interactive exhibitions, meet researchers and discover how science and technology affect everyday life.
The exhibition is open daily from 10:00 AM to 6:30 PM, and admission is free.
