Ukrainian plasma-derived medicines manufacturer Biopharma Plasma is continuing construction of a plasma fractionation plant in Oradea, western Romania. The facility will be the company’s third plasma fractionation plant in Eastern Europe, following an operational plant in Bila Tserkva and a second facility nearing completion in Uzhhorod, both in Ukraine.
The Oradea project is expected to create highly qualified jobs and include an R&D centre, while supporting the development of Romania’s biopharmaceutical industry.
Once operational, the facility is expected to contribute to Romania’s blood and healthcare infrastructure and improve access to plasma-derived medicines for patients with rare diseases and other serious medical conditions.
Headquartered in Kyiv, Biopharma Plasma specialises in the production of medicines from donated human blood plasma.
The company’s expansion into Romania adds new manufacturing capacity for plasma-derived medicines and represents an investment in the country’s pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical sector.
