The Minister of Health, Mr Neofytos Charalambides, has appointed Ms Poly Gregora as Mental Health Ambassador for a two-year term.
Poly Gregora is an Expert by Experience and Mental Health Advocate with many years of experience, advocacy and educational work in the field of mental health. She also contributed to the development of the National Strategy for Mental Health 2025–2028.
Mental health is an integral part of overall health and quality of life and remains a key priority for the Ministry of Health and the State. Prevention, early help-seeking, access to information, and the fight against stigma and discrimination are at the heart of government policy.

The establishment of the Mental Health Ambassador role strengthens the voice of society in public discussions and creates greater space for the knowledge and experience of people with lived experience of mental health challenges.
The aim is to build a society where we can talk openly about mental health, free from fear and prejudice, and where seeking help is recognised as an act of care and strength.
In her new role, Ms Gregora will contribute to raising awareness and improving public understanding of mental health, promoting mental well-being, challenging stigma, and fostering a society built on greater understanding, acceptance and support for everyone.
