The Masaryk University’s Faculty of Medicine announces a new call for proposals under the LF Accelerate grant scheme inspired by the SPARK Stanford program, which is part of the Internal Grant Agency (InGA).
Applicants can receive up to CZK 1 million to support projects with potential for practical application.
The aim of the scheme is to:
- increase not only the number of research outputs, but above all their quality and potential for real-world application,
- support a shift in mindset from basic research toward applied and translational research,
- strengthen collaboration between the Faculty of Medicine, Masaryk University, and the application sector, and raise awareness of research and its impact in practice,
- support applied research, experimental development, proof-of-concept projects, and the establishment of start-ups and spin-off companies at the Faculty of Medicine,
- provide added value through regular monitoring and international mentoring (SPARK Global Network, ITAB MED MUNI), helping projects move toward real-world implementation.
Eligibility
- The applicant must be an employee of the Faculty of Medicine, Masaryk University (engaged in research), at least 0.5 employment contract under the faculty.
- It is a project of applied research or experimental development according to the Frascati manual definition.
- The project proposal addresses an unmet clinical need and has the potential for application in practice.
- The project will accelerate the subject to the next Technology Readiness Level, TRL.
- Planned activities are not the subject of another project.
