For the first time, Innovation District Copenhagen (IDC) will participate in TechBBQ, one of the Nordic region’s largest technology and startup events.
IDC’s presence marks an important step in positioning Copenhagen as a leading European destination for deep-tech innovation and entrepreneurship.
TechBBQ takes place on 26–27 August. During the two-day event, visitors can meet representatives from across the district’s ecosystem at the Innovation District Copenhagen stand.

The district is already a leading European innovation hub, but 21 partners from academia, healthcare, business, finance and the public sector are now working together to further improve the conditions for innovators.
The stand will showcase a mature and connected innovation ecosystem where startups, scale-ups and established companies can collaborate, access world-class research, attract investment and grow internationally.
TechBBQ gives us a unique opportunity to position Innovation District Copenhagen internationally. On the morning of 26 August, investors from IDC partner organisations will be present at the stand. Visitors will have the opportunity to meet representatives from EIFO, Denmark’s national investment fund; The Novo Nordisk Foundation; BioInnovation Institute, the incubator and accelerator; and Lundbeck Foundation, a major biotech investor.

In the afternoon, representatives from IDC’s startup communities will take over the stand, offering visitors the opportunity to meet Beta Health, BioInnovation Institute, DTU Skylab, UCPH Lighthouse, Quantum Denmark and Symbion.

On both days of the event, startups based in Beta Health, BioInnovation Institute, DTU Skylab, UCPH Lighthouse, Quantum Denmark and Symbion will showcase their solutions at the stand.

Innovation District Copenhagen’s participation at TechBBQ is part of a broader effort to strengthen the district’s international visibility and make it easier for companies, investors and entrepreneurs to discover the opportunities within its ecosystem.
IDC covers a two-square-kilometre area in the heart of the Danish capital and brings together two hospitals, three academic institutions, five startup communities, ten incubator and accelerator programmes, 40,000 researchers, students and staff, and more than 500 deep-tech startups. The district’s key strengths include life sciences, quantum technology and digital technologies.
