MedicQuant: Recent usability testing provides valuable insights

PublishedAugust 21, 2026

MedicQuant has recently completed a new usability study of their product, with encouraging results.

The study provided valuable insights that will help guide the next phase of development as we continue working towards a solution that is intuitive, effective, and aligned with user needs.

MedicQuant also thanked everyone who participated, including ARCEDI Biotech, its neighbours at the INCUBA Skejby innovation environment.

MedicQuant is a spin-out from the Gothelf Lab at iNANO, Aarhus University, Denmark, and stands on the foundation of more than 11 years of state-of-the-art research. Their innovative technology is built on the proprietary, patent-pending platform using DNA nanotechnology, designed for precise measurement of small molecules.

While the assays are currently being developed for anticoagulants, the platform allows for easy adaptation to other small molecules. MedicQuant have already demonstrated proof of concept  for antibiotics, anticancer drugs, and antirheumatic drugs, among others.

The novel cartridge system, also patent-pending, generates signals with minimal user handling and can process complex media such as whole blood. Usability studies conducted with end users at relevant sites have rated the system as “easy” or “very easy” to use.
