In 2026, the three-year DIGILUNG project will come to an end. Funded by the European Union, the project focuses on transforming COPD care through cutting-edge AI and digital health solutions, while building a strong interregional COPD ecosystem to support future collaboration and the digitalisation of healthcare.
DIGILUNG has been named one of the Top 4 Interregional Innovation Investments (I3) projects by the European Broadband Competence Offices (BCO) Network.
Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is the third leading cause of death worldwide. It affects millions of people and has a significant economic impact.
DIGILUNG aims to bring together three AI-based innovations developed through business-driven pilot projects and create one connected solution. At the centre of the project is a state-of-the-art digital device powered by the integration solution developed by Cognuse. Together with the connected LungShirt from ATRIDE (Kinetic Analysis), the device collects patients’ daily breathing and activity data. This data is then sent to the MoveUp AI platform, where it is analysed, interpreted and visualised. The platform can also provide personalised recommendations.
DIGILUNG focuses on three main areas:
