Orakl Oncology (Orakl), a techbio company building a predictive biology-powered AI engine to rewrite drug development, has signed two agreements with Sanofi to apply its platform to evaluate the potential of four oncology assets
Under the agreements, Orakl will apply its proprietary predictive engine, O-Predict, to anticipate clinical response and define the best development path for each program. This strategy reflects Orakl’s mission to address urgent unmet needs in oncology by proving that predictive biology can dramatically improve success rates in a field where around 96% of oncology drug candidates fail in clinical development. By de-risking these assets first, Orakl aims to create a replicable model for transforming how the industry approaches drug development decisions.
A 96% failure rate is not a pipeline problem – this is a translational problem. Having spent my career trying to improve the odds of success in oncology, I see Orakl as one of the most credible efforts to transform how we predict clinical outcomes – by grounding AI in real human tumor biology
Laurent Debussche, global drug development expert.
A spin-off from Gustave Roussy and an early member of the Paris Saclay Cancer Cluster, Orakl addresses one of the most important gaps in AI drug development: the lack of patient-relevant biological evidence needed to predict how therapies will behave before clinical trials begin.
At the core of Orakl’s engine is its virtual cancer patient, a model of patient response built from its unique proprietary dataset and foundational AI models trained to unlock drug development bottlenecks. Generated through trusted collaborations with Orakl’shospital network, its rich longitudinal multimodal dataset combines pharmacotyping, multi-omics profiling and clinical data, with unmatched depth. Reaching 89% accuracy*, Orakl’s predictive engine has already demonstrated unprecedented performance in tasks that support strategic decisions around patient stratification, combination treatment and clinical trial design.
“These assets from Sanofi provide the perfect opportunity to demonstrate how our predictive biology platform can transform drug development economics,” said Fanny Jaulin, PhD, CEO of Orakl. “By validating these candidates early, Orakl ensures that patients will benefit from faster, more efficient development pathways.”
Orakl is a Paris-based techbio company that de-risks drug development through its AIxBio engine – combining patient-derived biological models, high-throughput drug screening, multimodal data integration, and a proprietary AI layer to predict clinical outcomes and identify the right patients for each therapy.
