Danish health technology company MedicQuant from Aarhus (Middle Jutland) has been awarded DKK 4.7 million through the Innobooster programme of Innovation Fund Denmark to support the development of a rapid point-of-care diagnostic test for acute stroke care.
The funding will be used to continue the development and analytical validation of the company’s diagnostic test, which is designed to measure clinically relevant apixaban levels in emergency settings.
Rapid access to this information could support healthcare professionals in making timely treatment decisions for patients with acute stroke.
The grant will also enable MedicQuant to advance its technology, carry out further analytical validation activities and prepare for the next stage of clinical validation.
The company said the Innobooster funding represents an important milestone in its efforts to develop more accessible diagnostic solutions for acute stroke care.
The long-term goal is to improve the speed and quality of clinical decision-making in emergency medicine.
