Croatian Red Cross presents plans in Geneva for the development of a Crisis Response Reference Centre

PublishedAugust 5, 2026

Executive President of the Croatian Red Cross Robert Markt held meetings with President of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies Kate Forbes and Deputy Secretary General Xavier Castellanos Mosquera at the headquarters of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies in Geneva.

The meetings discussed the development of a Crisis Response Reference Centre that the Croatian Red Cross plans to establish as part of a future campus.

The Centre will be a place for the exchange of knowledge and practical experience gained through the Croatian Red Cross’s many years of experience in crisis and emergency situations, particularly over the past 12 years, and will be intended for the training and strengthening of the capacities of members of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement from other countries.

One of the topics was also the Croatian Red Cross’s Set2Go emergency backpack, as an example of a tool for strengthening citizens’ preparedness for crisis situations.

The importance of promoting first aid knowledge as part of the road safety project was also discussed, as well as the role of national Red Cross societies in strengthening community resilience through education and prevention.
