NeuroBell raises $5.5m to advance AI-powered neonatal brain monitor

PublishedAugust 2, 2026

Irish medtech company NeuroBell has raised $5.5 million in a funding round aimed at accelerating the launch of its AI-powered neonatal brain monitoring system, LUNA.

The round was led by Elkstone and included participation from US health system Parkview Health, which is also deepening its clinical partnership with the company. According to NeuroBell, the partnership is intended to support a pathway into the US market.

Existing investors Furthr VC, Atlantic Bridge, Medtech Syndicate and Enterprise Ireland also participated in the round.

LUNA is being developed for use in neonatal intensive care units (NICUs), where continuous monitoring of brain activity can help clinicians assess vulnerable newborns. NeuroBell says the system is designed to make clinical-grade brain monitoring more accessible to NICU teams, including those in smaller units.

The company is now preparing for the next stage of the product’s development and commercialisation. NeuroBell says it expects FDA clearance for LUNA in the coming months, although the timing and outcome of the regulatory process remain subject to review by US regulators.

The funding will support the company’s efforts to bring LUNA towards the market, while the expanded relationship with Parkview Health provides a clinical and potential US market connection for the Irish company.
